Thanksgiving Day ‘Blessings’ Bulletin

At a Sunday morning pancake breakfast in November, members of Bethany Lutheran Church were asked to write down ‘things you are thankful for’ on individual sheets of paper, using a fine-point, black Sharpies, to capture particular hand-writing styles. Seventy-five written ‘blessings’ were formatted into a Thanksgiving Day bulletin cover, with the theme, ‘Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow’. To accompany the community text, artist Janet Hoech was asked to draw symbols of Blessings within a Greek cross.

The full production of this ‘artists and community-made’ bulletin cover involved seventy-nine church members, including it’s designers and the church secretary, who printed and collated the piece.
