The red festival day of Pentecost, with its emphasis on God's gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church, is represented here by contemporary fabrics not normally used in paraments. In this altar frontal, red flannel, with its substantial appropriate texture and weight, is paired with yellow cotton and red coarse tulle to highlight the seven flames/gifts of the Spirit.
The stole, worn by Pastor J. Polzin, is made of the altarcloth fabrics - and also references the seven flames/gifts.
